SSC GD Exam 2026 Chaos: Technical Glitches and Protests Disrupt Multiple Centres. The SSC GD Constable Exam 2026 witnessed major chaos and confusion in several cities across Uttar Pradesh and Bihar after technical glitches, overcrowding, and seat mismatches disrupted the examination process. Thousands of candidates who arrived at centres hoping to appear for the recruitment exam instead found themselves stuck in long queues, facing cancelled shifts and unexpected delays.

The incident has triggered anger among students and parents, with many questioning the management of one of India’s largest government recruitment examinations.

Massive Crowd and Confusion at Exam Centres

The biggest disruption was reported from Prayagraj, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, and Muzaffarpur, where candidates alleged serious mismanagement at examination centres.

In Prayagraj, students claimed that the number of candidates called for the examination was far higher than the actual computer capacity available at the centre. As candidates gathered in large numbers under extreme heat conditions, tension started rising outside the examination venue.

Several students said they had travelled overnight from distant districts to reach the centre, only to discover that there were not enough systems available for everyone.

The situation eventually became chaotic, and protests broke out near the centre premises.

Students Protest After Entry Issues

Many candidates alleged that technical errors, server failures, and roll number mismatches prevented them from entering examination halls on time.

In some centres, students claimed they were denied entry despite carrying valid admit cards and arriving before reporting time. Frustrated candidates began protesting outside examination centres, demanding that the exam be conducted fairly.

Videos circulating on social media showed large crowds of candidates standing outside gates and arguing with centre officials.

Police teams were later deployed in some areas to manage the crowd and restore normalcy.

Kanpur and Muzaffarpur Exams Cancelled

In Kanpur, one SSC GD examination shift had to be cancelled after serious overcrowding was reported at the centre. According to reports, more than 800 candidates were assigned to a centre with seating capacity for around 400 students.

Candidates alleged that the entire arrangement collapsed because of poor planning and technical problems.

Meanwhile, in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, the second and third shifts of the SSC GD Constable Exam 2026 were cancelled due to technical glitches at the examination centre.

Many candidates said they received information about cancellation only after reaching the venue, which increased frustration among students who had travelled from different districts.

SSC Promises Re-Exam for Affected Candidates

The Staff Selection Commission has assured candidates that all cancelled examinations will be rescheduled soon. Fresh admit cards and revised examination dates are expected to be released on the official SSC website.

Officials have advised candidates to regularly check the SSC portal for updates regarding rescheduled exams and new hall tickets.

Despite the assurance, many students expressed disappointment and demanded better arrangements for future examination shifts.

Growing Concerns Over Exam Management

The latest controversy has once again raised questions about the management of large-scale competitive examinations in India.

Over the past few months, several major exams have faced criticism over technical failures, paper leak allegations, and administrative lapses. Students preparing for government jobs say repeated disruptions are increasing mental pressure and uncertainty among aspirants.

Education experts believe stronger monitoring systems and better coordination with examination agencies are necessary to avoid such incidents in future recruitment exams.

Lakhs of Candidates Appear Every Year

The SSC GD Constable examination is conducted for recruitment to various Central Armed Police Forces including:

  • BSF
  • CRPF
  • CISF
  • ITBP
  • SSB
  • Assam Rifles

Every year, lakhs of candidates from across the country appear for the examination in hopes of securing government jobs in the security sector.

For many aspirants, the SSC GD exam represents a major career opportunity, making disruptions like these even more stressful.
