WB Vidhan Sabha Election Result 2021 – TMC, BJP, CPI & Congress Seats

The elections in West Bengal were held in total 8 phases from 27th March till 29th April, 2021. The result of the election is going to be announced on 2nd May, 2021. The West Bengal Elections were held on 27th March, 1st April, 6th April, 10th April, 17th April, 22nd April, 26th April and 29th April, 2021 in different districts and different constituencies of West Bengal. The elections were held in total 294 constituencies, out of which there are 68 SC and 16 ST Constituencies.

According to the ABP-C-Voter exit poll survey, the prediction shows that there will be a return to power of TMC led by Mamata Banerjee for the 3rd term consecutively in the state with about 152-64 seats in the assembly consisting of 294 seats. The exit poll was released after the completion of the last (eighth) phase of election in West Bengal. The last few phases of the election were held in the pandemic situation as there was a tremendous increase in the cases of Covid-19 in the state. 

Incidents of violence were reported in various during different phases of the election. In the last phase also, violence was reported in some areas but overall process of polling was peaceful and the percent turnout was around 76.07% up to 05:30 p.m. as said by the Election Commission.

People are eagerly waiting to see that what will be the results of the West Bengal Elections where there is an expectation of straight contest between the ruling party that is Trinamool Congress and the main challenger Bharatiya Janta Party. Also, it is being expected that the CPI (M)-Congress-ISF Alliance will give a tough fight to both the parties, that is, BJP and TMC on few seats.

According to the Election Strategist for TMC, Prashant Kishor, BJP will not get more than 100 seats. He also said that, he will leave his job and do something else if BJP crosses 100 seats in West Bengal. On the other hand, according to BJP, they will throw TMC out of power.

There are total 294 seats out of which a party should win at least 148 seats for majority. Exit polls were conducted by different organisations for a prediction of the West Bengal Elections Results after all the phases of the election were concluded in the state.

Thus, vote percentage on the 292 seats according to ABP C-Voter survey is-

  1. BJP: 39 percent votes.
  2. TMC: 42.1 percent votes.
  3. Congress: 15.4 percent votes.

According to the survey of Jan Ki Baat, Bharatiya Janta Party is expected to win 162 to 185 seats, Trinamool Congress is expected to win 104 to 121 seats and Left+ is expected to win 3 to 9 seats. On the other hand, according to the survey of Poll of polls, Bharatiya Janta Party is expected to win 160 seats, Trinamool Congress is expected to win 149 seats.

Thus, it is expected that there will be a tight edge for TMC and a huge gain for BJP.

Before the announcement of the actual election results, demand for exit poll usually outweighs the accuracy of the prediction of the results. This is because, the polls indicates what nation can expect on the day of vote counting. These predictions have 2 purposes-
