RRB NTPC stands for railway recruitment board has conducted examinations for the vacancy in non-technical popular categories post of Indian railways which are as follows: junior clerk cum typist, junior timekeeper account, clerk cum typist, senior clerk cum typist, junior accountant, commercial cum ticket clerk, traffic assistant, goods guard, commercial cum ticket, senior clerk timekeeper, commercial apprentice, and station master.

As per notice of Railway Recruitment Board, Ministry of Railway, Govt. of India has recently announced the vacancies of 35208 for the post of non-technical popular categories through railway NTPC 2019 and 20 exam earlier the vacancy announced for RRB NTPC this exam was 35277, for more than 1.25 crores eligible candidates. Many applicants are waiting for this recruitment for a long time. More details about the recruitment process is provided below.

The Railway Recruitment Board will release the RRB NTPC cut-off marks for the year 2021once all the exams are completed, the authority will release this year’s cutoff on the official RRB NTPC website.

RRB NTPC CBT Stage- 1 and 2 examinations are conducted in 6 phases on different dates.

RRB NTPC minimum qualifying marks

The qualifying marks are different from the cut of marks; the minimum marks are already predicted before the exam and are the minimum required marks that the candidates need to secure in the entrance examination to be considered qualified to participate in the admission process. The cut-off marks are decided by the board based on different factors.

Factors determining the RRB NTPC cut off are :

● How many vacancies are available for the year

● Number of applicants appearing for the RRB NTPC examination

● Based on the performance of candidates in the examination

● Reservation, quota, category-wise criteria as per RRB

● Depend upon the difficulty level of the examination.

Apart from these factors for this year, covid-19 can be the major factor influencing the cutoff of this year’s RRB NTPC exam.

RRB NTPC stage 1 computer-based test is conducted for hundred marks which cover 3 sections that are general reasoning, general awareness and mathematics. To go to the 2nd stage, the minimum qualifying percentage for each category is:

Only The candidates shortlisted after stage 1 can write the stage 2 exam.

This stage exam was calculated off of 120 marks. And the minimum qualifying percentage is calculated not only according to the percentage but also with the cut-off score.

And after qualifying the minimum percentage, the candidates were shortlisted for document verification/Medical examination and Typing Skill Test/Computer-based Aptitude Test.

How to apply for RRB NTPC

Steps to be followed:

  1. Visit the official website of RRB
  2. Click on the new registration link
  3. Select the RRB to which you wish to apply
  4. RRB, once selected, cannot be changed after the primary registration is completed and the registration number is allotted.
  5. Confirm that you have read and understood the instruction clearly by clicking the checkbox.

Details specifically needed: name date of birth, father’s name, mother’s name, Aadhaar number, SSLC/ matric roll number, mobile number and email ID. The email and mobile will be verified with OTP.

Before submitting the registration, be sure that you have read all the information and the application form is corrected.

After that, an online application form will appear, and the candidate can proceed with the application form by clicking the candidate login button on the home page by using the registration number and password.

The candidate has to enter the education qualification, community, gender religion, Ex-SM PwBD, minority status economically backward class 8 lesson relaxation eligibility category and other details.

 Payment – On completion of the application details, the candidates will be redirected to the payment page. They have the option of choosing payment mode offline/online.

 Exam language – The default language is English, but the candidates can choose any regional languages.

Upload photograph and signature – Candidates have to upload the photo size should be (35mm x45mm) and signature. The format should be in JPG/JPEG, and the size should be between 20 to 50 kB.

For certificate upload- If candidates belonging to ST/SC community, they are required to upload the caste certificate. At the end of the application, candidates need to agree to the declaration and submit the application form.

Check the application status and editing

 After submitting the form, if there are any minor changes to be made except mobile number, email id which can be done by paying 100 rs, and to check whether the application form is accepted or not, the candidate can visit the official site after entering application number and date of birth, they can check their status.

Download the Admit Card 

Once the application form accepted, the Admit Card can be downloaded from the activated link on the official website of RRB.


Candidates need to take these documents: ID proof, passport size Photograph, Admit Card.

How to check RRB NTPC Result 2021

The results of 2021 will be announced by the railway recruitment board on their official website; it will be in PDF format in the form of merit list candidates can download the RRB NTPC scorecard from the official website by entering the registered user id and password.
