NEET MBBS 2020 Eligibility Criteria

For Indian citizen and ordinary residents of India, Aadhaar number is a requirement to fill up the NEET online application form in all states except J&K, Assam, and Meghalaya. Before applying for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG)-2020, candidates must have some eligible criteria.

NTA NEET UG 2020 Age Limit:

The minimum age limit is 17 years on 31st December of the year of admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS courses. Maximum – The maximum age limit is 25 years for general candidates. Relaxation is applicable up to 5 years for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC category and person entailed for reservation under the rights of PwD act, 2016.

Age Criteria for appearing in NEET (UG)- 2020 is as follows:

For Candidates of Unreserved Category (UR)Born on or Between 07.05.1994 and 01.01.2003
For candidates of SC/ST/OBC/PH CategoryBorn on or between 07.05.1989 and 01.01.2003

Education Qualification:

Qualifying Exam: Students must have passed/ appeared in 12th or any other equivalent examination from any recognized and affiliated board with subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology or any other optional subject with English as the mandatory subject.

Appearing Candidates: Candidates are appearing in the qualifying exam are also eligible.

Subjects: In the qualifying exam, aspirants should have physics, chemistry, biology/bio-Technology with English as the compulsory subject.

Percentage Criteria: Students must have secured the minimum aggregate score of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology for general candidates and 45% (for general PH) and 40% (for SC/ST/OBC categories).

NEET 2020 Application Fees

The interested candidates will have to pay the application fee to complete the application procedure. Candidates can pay the application fee either through online or offline mode. The aspirants can deposit the application fee either through online, net banking or e-challan.

On paying the fee online through credit card or debit card, some additional bank charges may be applicable during the transactions. It is to be noted that, in any case, the application fee is non-refundable and candidates are not supposed to claim it under any circumstances. The application fees for different categories are as follows-

  • General and OBC candidates will have to pay Rs. 1400/- as an application fee.
  • The application fee for SC/ST and PH candidates will be Rs. 750/-.
  • Fee payment can be done through credit/debit card, net banking, UPI and e-wallet.
  • Service tax will also be applicable.

NEET Exam Pattern 2020, NEET UG 2020 Exam Scheme:

The NEET Entrance Exam will be conducted in the first week of May 2020. The test will be held through pen and paper Based mode. There will be objective type questions in the exam.

The exam duration will be of three hours. Total 180 questions will be asked. The question paper will be asked in Hindi, English, Gujarati, Marathi, Oriya, Bengali, Assamese, Telugu, Tamil, Urdu and Kannada languages.
