The JEE – Joint Entrance Exam is a national-level engineering entrance examination in India, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). It is conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering programs in various engineering colleges and universities in India.
JEE Main is the first stage, and it consists of two papers: Paper 1 for admission to B.E./B.Tech programs and Paper 2 for admission to B.Arch./B.Planning programs.
The JEE Main exam is open to candidates who have passed their Class 12th or equivalent exam, or who are in their final year of Class 12th. The registration process for the JEE Mains is announced by the NTA now, and the applications can be submitted starting from 15th December.
This time the JEE Main examination will be conducted in two sessions. Session 1 in January 2023 and Session 2 in April 2023. Session-wise details, examination dates, application fees and other details are explained in the below article.

- On the Home page, under “Candidate Activity” section, click on JEE Main 2023 registration session 1.
- It will redirect to the JEE Main application page https://examinationservices.nic.in/
- Read the instructions and eligibility criteria carefully before starting the application process.
- Register or Login to the application portal and click on Apply Now
- Fill in the personal, academic, and contact details as required in the application form.
- Upload the required documents, including your recent passport-sized photograph and signature.
- Pay the application fee using a credit card, debit card, or net banking.
- Review your application carefully before submitting it.

JEE Main 2023 Exam Pattern:
JEE Main exams consist of two papers: Paper 1 for admission to B.E./B.Tech. Programs and Paper 2 for admission to B.Arch./B.Planning programs.
The exam is conducted in online mode and consists of multiple-choice questions Examination will be conducted in 2 shifts – morning 9 Am to 12 PM, and afternoon 3 PM to 6 PM.
JEE Main Paper 1: Exam pattern
- The exam consists of 90 multiple-choice questions, divided into three sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
- Each section has 30 questions.
- The total duration of the exam is 3 hours.
- The exam is conducted in two shifts: morning and afternoon.
- Each correct answer carries 4 marks, and each incorrect answer carries a negative mark of 1.
