The elections in Assam were held in total 3 phases. The result of the election is going to be announced on 2nd May, 2021. The Assam Elections were held on 27th March, 1st April and 6th April 2021 in different constituencies like in total 126 of constituencies (for 126 seats).

According to the prediction done by India Today- Axis My India survey, BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) will return to power again by winning about 75 to 80 seats. But, Congress will give a tough fight to BJP, thus it is expected that BJP will have to face a stiff challenge from INC. In 2016 elections, BJP won 86 seats out of total 126 seats and thus became the ruling party. BJP has taken on an alliance of 8 parties which includes Badruddin Ajmal’s AIUDF.

There are a total of 126 seats in the state out of which a party is required to win a minimum of 64 seats for attaining the majority. Various exit polls were being conducted by different organisations for predicting the Assam Elections Results 2021 after completion of the election process. 

From NDA, Asom Gana Parishad is contesting on 26 seats, BJP is contesting on 92 seats and United People’s Party Liberal is contesting on 8 seats. On the other hand, in the opposition side, AIUDF is contesting on 14 seats, Congress is contesting on 94 seats, CPI (M) is contesting on 2 seats and Bodoland People’s Front is contesting on 12 seats. Other than these, Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation which is led by Rupun Sarma, RJD and Anchalik Gana Morcha headed by Ajit Kumar Buyan are contesting on 1 seat each.

The total voter turnout in the elections was 82.04 percent. The exit poll was conducted after the last phase of the Elections.
