JAC Delhi 2026 Counselling Starts, Engineering Aspirants Rush to Apply for DTU, NSUT and IIIT-Delhi.The wait is finally over for thousands of engineering aspirants as the JAC Delhi 2026 counselling process has officially started from May 28. Students who appeared for JEE Main 2026 can now apply online for admission to some of Delhi’s most prestigious government engineering colleges.
With the registration window now open, students across the country have started filling choices for popular BTech and BArch programmes offered through the Joint Admission Committee (JAC) Delhi.
The counselling process will continue till June 9, 2026, giving candidates limited time to complete registration, fee payment, and choice filling.
Admissions Open for Delhi’s Top Engineering Colleges
JAC Delhi counselling is considered one of the biggest admission processes for engineering students after JEE Main results. Through this counselling, candidates can apply for admission to top institutes such as:
- Delhi Technological University (DTU)
- Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT)
- IIIT-Delhi
- IGDTUW
- Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU)
Every year, lakhs of students compete for seats in these colleges because of their strong placement packages, modern campuses, and academic reputation.
For many students, getting admission into DTU or NSUT is considered a dream opportunity after Class 12.
JEE Main Scores Will Play Key Role
Admissions under JAC Delhi 2026 will be based mainly on JEE Main 2026 scores.
Students who qualified JEE Main Paper 1 can apply for BTech admissions, while candidates who cleared Paper 2 will be eligible for BArch programmes.
Officials have clarified that admissions in DTU, NSUT, IGDTUW, and DSEU will be granted strictly on the basis of Common Rank List (CRL) in JEE Main.
Meanwhile, IIIT-Delhi may also consider additional bonus points for achievements in Olympiads, innovation competitions, coding contests, sports, and other national-level activities.
Students Advised Not to Wait Till Last Date
Soon after the counselling portal opened, heavy traffic was seen on the official website as students started completing registrations and comparing previous years’ cut-offs.
Experts have advised candidates not to wait until the final day because server issues and technical delays are common during large admission processes.
Students are also being encouraged to carefully lock their course and college preferences after proper research.
According to counselling experts, branches like Computer Science Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Electronics, and IT are expected to witness extremely high competition this year.

This extra opportunity will help candidates make corrections or update their preferred course and college choices later.
