Educational Qualification

Candidates must fulfill the required educational qualifications according to the post applied for.

Candidates applying for MTS posts must have passed 10th class from a recognized board. For Forest Guard posts, candidates should have passed 12th with Science stream. Applicants for Lower Division Clerk (LDC) must have passed 12th class and possess typing skills.

Candidates applying for Technician (Maintenance) posts should have Matriculation along with ITI certificate in the relevant trade. For Technician (Field/Lab Research) posts, candidates must have completed 10+2 Science with at least 60% marks.

Applicants for Stenographer Grade II posts should have passed 12th class along with stenography skills. Candidates applying for Technical Assistant (Field/Lab) posts should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Science with relevant subjects. For Library Information Assistant posts, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science.

Age Limit

The minimum age limit for most posts is 18 years. The maximum age limit varies according to the post.

Candidates applying for MTS, Forest Guard, LDC, Store Keeper, Stenographer Grade II, and Library Information Assistant posts should be between 18 to 27 years of age.

For Technician (Maintenance) and Technician (Field/Lab Research) posts, the age limit is 18 to 30 years. Candidates applying for Technical Assistant posts should be between 21 to 30 years.

Application Fee

Candidates belonging to General, OBC, and EWS categories have to pay an application fee of ₹1500. Female, SC, ST, and PwD candidates need to pay ₹700.

The application fee can be paid online through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.

Selection Process

The FRI Dehradun Group C Recruitment 2026 selection process consists of multiple stages.

First, candidates will appear for the Computer-Based Test (CBT). Candidates who qualify the CBT will be called for the Descriptive Test. After qualifying the descriptive examination, candidates will have to appear for Skill Test, Trade Test, or Physical Test according to the post applied for.

The final merit list will mainly be prepared on the basis of CBT marks.

FRI Dehradun Exam Pattern 2026

The Stage-I examination will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. The exam will consist of objective-type multiple-choice questions.

The subjects included in the examination are:

The examination will carry 100 marks. The exam duration will be between 2 to 3 hours depending on the post.

Candidates applying for Forest Guard posts must fulfill physical standards prescribed by FRI.

  • Height: 165 cm
  • Chest: 79–84 cm

Female Candidates

  • Walking: 14 Km in 4 Hours
  • Height: 150 cm
  • Chest: 74–79 cm

FRI Dehradun Salary 2026

Selected candidates will receive salary according to the 7th Pay Commission pay levels.

The salary for Library Information Assistant posts ranges from ₹35,400 to ₹1,12,400. Technical Assistant posts carry salary between ₹29,200 to ₹92,300.

Candidates selected for Stenographer Grade II posts will receive salary from ₹25,500 to ₹81,100. Technician and Store Keeper posts offer salary ranging from ₹21,700 to ₹69,100.

The salary for LDC, Forest Guard, and Technician Maintenance posts ranges from ₹19,900 to ₹63,200. MTS posts offer salary between ₹18,000 to ₹56,900.
